Frequently asked questions

 Everything You Need to Know

Can the MIZ-21C fully replace PT and MT inspections?

In most surface inspection applications, yes. The MIZ-21C detects surface and near-surface flaws without chemicals, surface preparation, or dwell time. It also produces a digital data record that PT and MT cannot provide. For applications with specific regulatory requirements for PT or MT, consult your inspection procedure documentation.

Which industries is the MIZ-21C designed for?

The MIZ-21C is primarily positioned for aerospace, oil & gas, and power generation. It performs well in any application requiring surface crack detection, multi-layer corrosion inspection, depth sizing, or conductivity measurement on conductive materials.

What is the difference between the three MIZ-21C models?

The MIZ-21C-SF covers single-frequency ECT and conductivity. The MIZ-21C adds dual-frequency capability and rotating scanner support. The MIZ-21C-ARRAY adds full eddy current array (ECA) with the Surf-X probe for high-speed surface scanning. Most applications benefit from the ARRAY model.

Does the MIZ-21C work with existing Zetec probes and accessories?

Yes. The MIZ-21C uses standard Lemo connectors (18-pin ECT, 26-pin ECA) and is compatible with thousands of off-the-shelf Zetec accessories. Automatic probe recognition via Zetec ID Chip eliminates manual setup.
